The Early Years

In summary, I am the product of military life - one of the infamous Army Brats. Born in Germany, the middle of 5 kids, we moved every 2 to 3 years until I was 17. My father retired in Colorado where I graduated from high school and CU in Boulder. After that, I moved to Minnesota and Arizona 'on my own'.

I went to high school for 2 years overseas - in Bangkok, Thailand while my father was assigned to SEATO. (The South East Asia Treaty Organization). There is a website for ISB Alumni (International School of Bangkok)! The website also has some good links for learning Thai (free), Thai culture, and many others. Was able to attend "a" reunion in Florida - actually 2, but the first competed with huricane Charley in 2004 - hung out with my uncle in Sarasota before and after. San Antonio in 2006 was a blast! I was also able to visit my sister (with her 5 acres, horses and lots of rescue dogs). I think I'm getting the hang of these things called parties-- plus I get to visit family!

Where I go during the day ----

I will be taking some online courses and updating my computer skills right now. Get to play with my website - should have a new page up soon.

I have just been laid off from the accounting department at Goettl Airconditioning - after 5 years. So I am joining the rest of those affected deeply by the current economy. Will be doing temporary work until I get back on my feet. One advantage - I get to take my first vacation in over 3 years (was working up to 7 days a week at times and could never get the time off).

Was at The Phoenix Zoo in the Accounting dept for 2 years. Was a great/different experience! Loved walking around at night.

Worked as an analyst for Compuware about 4 years. Went to Michigan for a total of 6 months to learn programming and the packages that Compuware developed. Really liked it - it is great when it works!!

I also have a pet sitting business. Haven't been extremely busy with it, but have had a lot of fun. Since I have cats and no dogs, I get my canine fix this way.

Education

Had to take a break in 2008 in my progress toward a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management at Keller Graduate School of Management. Just couldn't fit it in with the hours I had to work - although I do only have a few classes left.

Mom started me on the path of learning - enrolling me in nursery school at the age of 3. I had attended 10 different schools by the time I graduated from high school. School was such fun, that I continued on to earn 2 BA's, have started on a web certification program, and have attended courses at the community college.

Work Experience

Both paid and unpaid, work has been a part of my life since I was 12.

I have worked in both the Accounting and the IT (programming) areas - just dealing with the machine from a different angle! I have also worked as a juvenile probation officer, which has surprisingly come in handy in my office jobs. No, I will not tell which ones!

My 3 Day Walk

Here is my training log for a 3 day 6o-mile walk that I am training for. The walk will be Nov 3-5, 2006. I will not spare any of the detail!

I did the walk and had never felt better!
